ONE LOAF PER ORDER, TWO POSSIBLE SIZES. The large loaf is roughly the length of a standard loaf of bread. The small loaves are always made with half the amount of dough as a large loaf, but they tend to have more variation in final size/shape.
Along with replacing some of the white flour with a blend of wheat and oat flours, this fun twist on our original Challah bread recipe incorporates pumpkin and several spices. Don't expect a dessert bread. This is no sweeter than traditional Challah, it's just more vitamin packed and has a spicy warmth that pairs well with hearty meals. It ALSO happens to make the best Challah French toast ever!! (These loaves are a bit more expensive because they represent a lot more work.)
INGREDIENTS: White Bread Flour, Fresh"Pumpkin Water" (this is the beta carotene-rich juice drained off our homemade pumpkin puree), Whole Wheat Flour, Fresh Pumpkin Puree, Butter, Large Duck Eggs, Fresh Ground Oat Flour, Dark Brown Sugar, Yeast, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Cloves. (And for the EGG WASH: Chicken Egg, Filtered Water, Sea Salt)
