Choose from a variety of unique, handmade, pendants which have been painstakingly crafted from the flowers and dried berries of the much maligned Pokeweed plant!
Every tiny berry, flower, and seed I used had to be delicately painted with a sealant and allowed to dry before they could then be glued into place one-by-one and coated (as a group) in several more layers of sealant. To say this jewelry is a labor of love is an understatement! 😁
WHY POKEWEED? If you're a Southerner, you know Pokeweed all too well. This year, while picking some ripe berries for my chickens, I realized that the plant actually has some truly beautiful elements. Not only that, but even the flowers appeared sturdy enough to be dried without crumbling away. So that naturally got my creative side thinking....I began harvesting the flowers and berries in every stage of development, resulting in an intriguing array of colors, shapes, and patterns. I've only just begun to explore fun ways to use them!
