PASTURE RAISED CHICKEN EGGS: BANTAM (PEEWEE)

Regular price $0.00 $2.50 Sale

PLEASE NOTE:  WE CANNOT SHIP EGGS THROUGH THE MAIL!

ALL OTHER EGGS SIZES ARE NOW LISTED ON SEPARATE PRODUCT PAGES, RATHER THAN ON THE DROP-DOWN MENU!

BANTAM (AKA PEEWEE) eggs will each weigh from 1.00-1.50 ounces.

WHEN PRODUCTION IS HIGHER THAN THE DEMAND, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO PURCHASE A FULL FLAT OF EGGS!!  Each flat contains 2.5 dozen egg.  If possible, please return the empty flats to us when you're done.

These eggs are laid by chickens who are fed soy-free, NON-GMO feed along with produce we've grown, healthy tidbits from the kitchen, and whatever plants and insects they forage for on their own.  If you haven't tried farm fresh chicken eggs, you'll be impressed by the brightly colored yolks and noticeably better flavor!  (If you're wondering why farm fresh eggs are generally more expensive than those you find in grocery stores, the answer is that our expenses are much greater because we provide them with premium feed and living conditions that far exceed the pathetic guidelines for "humane" treatment.)

HOT TIP: Having trouble peeling your hard boiled farm-fresh eggs?  Try steaming them instead!!  The steam permeates the shell and helps make peeling them SO much easier!  Here's a link to a page that gives great instructions:  https://www.simplyrecipes.com/m/recipes/how_to_steam_eggs/

ABOUT OUR CHICKENS:  We have a mixed flock which includes both standard sized birds and sweet little bantam (miniature) birds.  We're committed to making sure all of the creatures on this farm get to enjoy the activities that naturally bring them joy, and for chickens that means lots of wide open space to scratch around for hidden insects, stretch out and soak up the sun, take dust baths, and forage for grass and weeds.  Our birds have free reign of a very large yard from early in the morning until after the sun sets, then they're locked up safe and sound in a cozy coop.
