ASIAN PEARS (2 LBS)
(PLEASE NOTE: Due to this year's growing conditions, these pears are slightly different. They weirdly look more like regular pears, and are often a tiny bit softer than usual. But I promise these are from the exact same tree we harvested them from last year, and they're every bit as juicy and delicious!!!!)
At least 2 pounds of organically grown Asian Pears AKA "Apple Pears". (Generally this will be either three or four pears, depending on their weight.) Asian Pears might just be my absolute favorite fruit! They're exquisitely firm and crisp (so much so that it's best to slice them, rather than attempting to bite right in), and yet they're somehow equally juicy. And I just can't get enough of the mild flavor which consists mainly of sweetness with just the faintest touch of tartness! The peels are admittedly very tough, which is their one "flaw". I personally don't mind the toughness, since it's a good source of fiber, but you might prefer to peel these pears first. Because they're so firm, this fruit is ideal for using in salads and coleslaw, and perfect for baking or stir frying with cinnamon!
