This year our land produced a bumper crop of Wild Beautyberries, & I wanted to turn them into a syrup. But the flavor was missing something, & I was struggling to find what it needed. I knew from past experience that when you cook Watermelon juice, the flavor transforms into something rich & caramel-like; & we had just harvested a few tiny Watermelons. The Watermelon juice's complex layers of caramelized sweetness paired beautifully with the Wild Beautyberry juice; & this unique syrup was born!
