FRESH FIGS (1 pint)
One pint (over 1/2 lb) of organically grown Fresh Figs. Sweet and supple, this surprisingly delightful (and woefully overlooked) treat has managed to secure a position among my favorite fruits!
ABOUT FRESH FIGS: Most of people are familiar with dried figs, and the delicious bars they make. But if you're like me, you may have gone your whole life without actually tasting the FRESH counterpart of this unique fruit. Unlike the dried version, in which the seeds can be a bit overwhelming, the seeds of fresh figs feel much more understated. (I'd compare them to the seeds in blueberries.) Figs are also an incredibly nutritious. Fresh figs not only contain lots of fiber and prebiotics to support intestinal health, they're also an excellent source of minerals Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper, and Manganese as well as Vitamins A, C, K, & B6!
